You or members of your family may qualify for Medicaid through Maryland Health Connection to receive free or low-cost health care. Enrollment in Medicaid and the Maryland Children’s Health Program (MCHP) is year-round.
Make changes to your account any time there are changes in your life—including pregnancy, change of address, or change in job status. You may lose benefits if your account is not up to date.
Look up your income and household size below to see if you may qualify. If you’re pregnant or have a family with children, you may earn more and still qualify.
There is no income limit for individuals enrolled in foster care in Maryland until age 26.
Maryland Health Connection is not for people applying for Medicaid on the basis of being aged, blind, disabled, living in a nursing home, or medically needy.
The following services are covered by Medicaid (if they are not covered by Medicare or any other insurance and if the Maryland Medicaid Program’s specific requirements are met for the services):
Your MCO may offer limited adult dental coverage.
The Family Planning Program covers family planning services for women and men whose income is too high to qualify for full-benefit Medicaid, but is below certain limits. If you do not qualify for full-benefit Medicaid, you may still be eligible for Medicaid coverage of family planning services, even if you are enrolled in a Qualified Health Plan. Learn more about the Family Planning Program.
There are important next steps after you enroll in Medicaid or the Maryland Children’s Health Program (MCHP):

If you enroll in a managed care organization or have a child enrolled in the Maryland Children’s Health Program (MCHP), covered health services include doctor visits, prescription medicines, hospital and emergency care, and more.
Dental care also is covered for children enrolled in MCHP, and some MCOs offer limited adult dental care. You also can buy a dental plan through Maryland Health Connection during the annual Open Enrollment period each fall.
It’s important to tell Maryland Health Connection right away if you’ve had changes in your household or income to be sure you are receiving the right coverage and financial help.
